Dead Space 2 - 8/10
Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain - 8/10
I recently had the opportunity to play Goldeneye once again on an old N64. I regret it immensely. My memory of Goldeneye was pure nostalgic gold. However, it's my fault as it should have really occurred to me how much time has passed and technology has develped since the mid 90s lol.
Hmmm, should we start a grand bullshit thread again lol? It had reached epic proportions.
Good point to be fair. Doom & Duke 3D hold up a little steadier. Have you also tried Perfect Dark N64?
Just learned that "A fan remake powered by unreal engine titled GoldenEye 25, was in development and originally scheduled for a 2022 release in honour of the game's 25th anniversary, but the project was ultimately cancelled in 2020"
I haven't tried Perfect Dark N64 since I played it on the old console back in the day. I remember loving it though, such a crazy storyline. I used to pick Elvis the alien as my character for the multiplayer lol. Have you played it since yourself?
Any idea why the fan remake was cancelled? Was it due to concerns over copywrite issues?
I recall PD coming out late in N64's life, but i had flogged mine by that point. Game consoles came and left so fast throughout that era. I played it several years ago when I bought an N64 from ebay. I had to go purchase N64 memory expansion in order to simply play it lol. I enjoyed PD for the most part, but some missions were a slog and i didn't have a spare controller to try the multiplayer, so I don't have much to comment about it. Anyway, I'm pressed for time. I'll make a proper reply to you on BS thread some other day. I sent you a couple of emails few weeks ago, one regarding Goldeneye, which possibly landed in your spam folder?
Ah I think PD, like Goldeneye, was at its best in the multiplayer aspect. Haha do you remember the rumble packs? Nintendo was a head of it's time back then. Oh sorry, I rarely check emails so didn't realise you had sent anything. I'll log in soon and check out your emails.
Hello dehr! I remember going round a friends house to try N64 when Goldeneye and DiddyKong Racing had just come out. Pretty sure he owned a rumble pak. Sony probably sighed when they realised it's back to the drawing board with PS1 controller design. We might not game with twin analog sticks today if N64 didn't start the trend. The PS5 recently launched, have you tried it yet? I might buy one sometime if they offer backwards compatibility. That Demon's Souls remake is very tempting haha. I played the hell out of the PS3 original. Close to a masterpiece I'd say.
C'mahn Dis, it's time we name-dropped our current digital pastimes. What games have you played this year?
Watch Dogs - 7.5 Ever tried this series? similar to GTA with hacking phones, machines, buildings mechanic.
Borderlands 2 - 7.5
Dark Mist - 6
I'm loving Tetris Effect Connected right now.
Also playing COD: Warzone on PC with friends every once in a while.
My next Xbox game is Wreckfest. It's been installed for a week, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Life is busy.
I was looking at Cyberpunk, but the first reviews coming out with endless bugs make me want to wait at least a year. The game looks like an enormous mess right now, especially on consoles.
I've played the Incredible Hulk movie video game. I hope they make more of them.
Goldeneye was so fun back in the day and know it hasn’t aged well, so I’m steering clear of that Juan.
Currently playing Super Smash Ultimate 10/10
...debating getting season 2 pass but so expensive for dlc characters.
Played SNES virtual console version of Super Ghouls & Ghosts. Freaking took me 1/2 an hour to beat the first bloody stage!! I dunno how I managed to beat the entire thing when I was younger on an original SNES. 10/10 Nostalgia brutal challenge
...sew kewl that a new remastered version of the original Ghouls & Goblins is coming out! Might pick it up but darn the challenge is real but the time dedication isn’t.
Wreckfest is great! Fantastic follow-up to the Flatout series.
Yeah, Diamond. I recently noticed Ghosts 'n Goblins promoted on Switch. The graphics don't sit well with me, I wish they would have gone with glossy 16-bit sprites instead. I mean, they sort of have - actually it's the lazy animations that bug me overall, haha.
Diamond, are you from UK/Aus? you said "first bloody stage" in previous post. Also unsure of your age/gender?
I recently have my claws stuck in to...
Dead Rising 2
Metal Slug 3
Spec Ops: The Line
