England played unbelievably well compared to previous world cups. Do you think Southgate made an impact on performance this time round? Do you think he will still be manager for the next euro/world cups?

Final Fight film is pretty commendable overall. They outdid themselves with casting choice of Haggar the moustached mayor. Just google image to compare him with the game character. Rest of the casting choices sadly weren't up to a similar standard.

There have been many God of War games over the years and I haven't played a single one lol. I suppose I should do given the only console I play anymore is PlayStation and GOW series are an exclusive to it. Currently playing Prototype which is a similar type action/fighting game in open world.

Yeah, i'm also a fan of horror films set in bleak weather conditions. Some of the 70s horror did that well, such as Don't Look Now. That film gets creepy as sin towards the end. It's worth a watch, ever seen it? I'll download that Hateful 8 film and review it soon.
I watched TF animated film about 15 yrs ago and had never seen it before. I enjoyed it and don't believe any nostalgia is required. Come to think of it, that was the first item i ever ordered from amazon. There's a hard rock song which is heard towards the end that i guarantee will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
Maaan, I don't know where to stand on this new Predator project. Only thing that connects with me so far is writer/actor Shane Black involvment. He was Hawkins in the original film btw. Just watched main trailer, I don't like the look of all the childrens halloween baloney.

If i still had the original game collecting dust somewhere, I'd purchase this item in a flash.

Here's some trivia on Predator i'm sure we both never knew about until now  He also provided the voice of Eyore the donkey in winnie cartoon.

Oh lord, can you believe these two lads fell for such a troll? He shames them at the end and, colourfully, reveals who he is. Frequent strong language here, so ya might want to use headphones. Contrary to popular belief, this griefer does various characters without the aid of a voice changer. This is one of the few videos in which he's spared an explanation to his victims on that matter. Funny when the old brother is giving elmo a smacking in the background :popcorn:Get back on the mic and you apologise like a real man!!!

Yes, I realise this month I'm bombarding the thread with FOUR videos, but this one is brief and a classic. If you thought those two lads were a bit dimwitted & gullible, you ain't seen nothin yet.

Haha sorry Nog, I honestly just completely forgot last night. Anyhow, not to the reply!
Oh yeah we definitely played well at the world cup. I think what Southgate brought to the team was that he actually engendered a good team spirit. We don't quite have the quality of some of the other teams at the moment, but that's partually due to having a young team, but they will grow together as players and may very well be far better prepared/equiped for Euro 2020. I do think Southgate will be the manager for the next Euros, barring something unforseen happening. He did very well both with coaching the team and dealing with the media. He just seems to be a likeable bloke too. What do you think?

Speaking of games that are getting made into live action movies/shows, apparently The Witcher is getting made into a show on Netflix with Henry Cavill as the main character. Never played the game or read the book, have you? If the main character is stoic and serious then Henry will do a good job. Possibly will never been seen as Superman again though, due to contractual disagreements. Looks like Afleck will also never play Batman again either. Speaking games, I have seen the commercials for that new Spiderman game for the PS4. Have you heard much about it? It looks like it might be fun. Always liked the character as he is quite sarcastic.

No I haven't seen Don't Look Now, but I may give it a go as myself and some mates are planning a horror marathon night at Halloween time. Is it the one starring Donald Sutherland and set in Venice? Speaking of horrow films, I'm planning on seeing the new Predator this weekend. Looks like it may actually capture some of the tone and feel of the original. Do you think you might give it a go some time yourself? Boyd Holbrook is in it, I've seen him in a few things and he is quite a good actor.

Ah that Resident Evil display case looks awesome. A lot of the art for that game series was very good, very gritty.

Ah that was a cool vid with Peter Cullen! Sometimes it's easy to forgot all of the little details that go into making a film like Predator. I suppose these days they would just generate some sound using computers unfortunately.

The first griefing vid was hilarious lol. You better not believe in jinxs! Lol

Wow, that second troll vid is just unbelievable lol. How did he think that voice was real?

Haha I wonder how they convinced Peter Weller to do that in the last vid! He looked totally enthralled by the pinball! Ah I haven't played pinball in donkeys. Do you remember going to arcades and using up all your pocket money? Our local was also a bowling alley lol.

    This amused me somewhat:

Yeah man, Pinball machines ha ha. I don't think I ever played a real one like Weller is on there, just pinball game simulators. Sonic Spinball springs to mind... buddum-tish.
I also have fond memories going to bowling alley with small arcade inside plus a Wimpy restaurant. In 1996 they had Sega world and it was amazing. They moved them all up stairs in a seperate room. We lost many quids on DieHard Arcade, Daytona, Last Bronx, Fighting Vipers, Virtual-on. Most of them were converted to Sega Saturn.
Ah yes, I have The Witcher on PC it's one huge RPG game I don't have time to complete like I used to. I hear people say Witcher 3 is the best game. Any idea if the show will be live-action or animated? I just started downloading & watching Castlevania netflix series which is animated and I recommend checking it out if you're on netflix. They included few of the games themes in action sequences like Bloody Tears. Here's a taster of the show below. Thoughts???

I haven't played a single Spideman game sadly. I think that new Spiderman PS4 game is meant to be pretty good ya know. Not seen any complaints around online.
Did you watch new Predator and Halloween? If so, any good? I saw both and found them enjoyable yet disposable. Somewhat like a can of drink heh.
One final point, did you notice a bunch of old john carpenter movies are being shown in theatres over past few weeks in 4K resolution? Such as Escape from new york, They Live, The Fog. Sadly no sign of The Thing. Nevertheless, would you have gone? :)

Oh yeah, so my week is off to a rocky start. Yesterday was my last day working for "Best Buy", I resigned for the record. And I find out today my payroll card number has been stolen and was attempted to be used wherever, so I now have to wait up to three weeks for a new payroll card to be issued before I can touch my existing funds. But worst is this means I have to go back to Best Buy this week to arrange for my final pay to be a check, which Best Buy's policy concerning is that a actual paycheck can only be mailed from their home office in Minnesota, some abysmal leftist state that border the frozen northern tundra nation of Canada. Fun times.

Good day, tweeg. I believe Dis contacted you months ago on your whereabouts. What kept you occupied for so long?
Also, I struggle to find the nostalgia in that webpage. Do you still have links to our characters standing around talking in dreamcast PSO lobby from 2006? :) Stay in touch man.

As a matter of fact I do. But I'm still slowly getting the pictures that were already posted back up on the site. Maybe in another week or so I'll have the 950 pictures back up and online from before the big server move, and will have to see about getting the rest online in the time that follows.

As for my not coming around to speak of in ages, that goes back to me quitting my Job at Best Buy. I was staying stressed out over that crappy job and after a solid three years working their I was still being passed over for promotions and witnessing all manner of crap business decisions being made and idiotic rookie mistakes being made repeatedly year after year by ignorant people who held higher paying and higher ranking job positions than me. And who had to fix the lion's share of those idiotic needless problems and also deal directly with the customer's who were affected? One guess, and with a hint it wasn't the morons who created those problems. But regardless of how those issues worked out, or didn't work out, it was me and the rest of the bottom rank crew members who seemingly always received the blame for the problems. I was quite literally sick of it. I stuck it out ridiculously long because both the Department Manager and Department Supervisor were seeking other employment. Sadly, the Department Manager found new employment first, and the Department Supervisor was selected as his replacement. But I did at least make it into the interview phase for the then opened Supervisor position, but sadly not only did I not get it, they chose one of the idiots who already worked their, creates tons of problems, and had been forced to change departments three times prior because he was such a massive screw-up and nobody could tolerate him! Then came the harassment from the new Department Manager/former supervisor who was more then just a little disgruntled with me for even having applied to be the supervisor.

So presently I am unemployed, no access to my payroll account, and will not receive my final paycheck until sometime in December because of the whole mess with the payroll/debit card issue. So now I am working on readying stuff to list on Ebay in mass to hopefully tide over my monetary needs until the payroll stupidity is worked out and/or I find another job.

Wonder if all these are accurate or made up bollox? Either way, an agreeably fascinating compilation here

I mean Temple of Doom is listed here. The effects weren't anything dazzling for the time just typical practical effects and a forgettable minecart hop stunt. Did they even consider Ghostbusters or A Nightmare on Elm St instead. They messed with your mind on first watch.
Seeing Mary Poppins in there reminds me to inform thou... they've made a sequel/reboot of it with emily blunt and it releases just before christmas. Had me thinkin it was a cash grab remake until double checking. Still making $$$ off the title alone regardless.

Seasons greetings all! Does it seem like you guys that everyone has their Christmas decorations up already? People have gone Griswald mad the last few years. I just have a fibreoptic tree myself, which requires minimal effort :p.

Ah pinball machines, I have actually played a couple of real ones, but they never held my attention for some reason. I suppose they were a bit old school in comparison to the arcade games like Mortal Combat that were a more fun option. Although the other day I did see a retro game for sale which is similarish to pinball .....Labyrinth. Did you ever play it? Ah the good old arcade and bowling alley (some of them still around today, showing that they stand the test of time!). Did you ever play the live action Western arcade game, where you shot at the screen with a gun and it was real actors that were pretending to be hit etc? I can't recall the name of it, but I remember losing a lot of money to it lol. Ever get addicted to those grabber machines? I had a few mates who did, but I hated them, never one a single toy out of them lol.

The Witcher will be a live action tv show, you can actually see what Henry Cavill will look like in it: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5180504/?ref_=nv_sr_1 . Oh the Castlevania show looks very interesting! I have the first season on my Netflix list, so hopefully won't be long till I get a chance to watch it. Season 2 might also be available now!

I did see the new Halloween and Predator films. I really enjoyed Halloween, nothing new but it was effective. I thought Predator was disappointing. I was hoping they would get back to the feel of the original, but it turned into more of a comedy. Maybe the subject matter can't be taken seriously anymore. What do you think?

Oh I love John Carpenter! I defininitely would have gone to see They Live, Escape from New York or the Thing had I seen them on (and had the time lol). The Thing is a great film, one of my all time favourite horror films! The weird prequel was decent too, but more or less a remake of the original. Can't beat Kurt Russell in the lead role though! Would you have gone yourself? Remember Escape from LA? I think it's on Netflix at the moment, I may give it a watch over Christmas.

The special effects winners are interesting, I was surprised to see things like Thief of Bagdad in there. But I suppose you have to consider the time the films were made. Speaking of Nightmare on Elm Street, the Surreal imagery freaked me out when I was a kid! I watched the remake recently at it was just awful in comparison. Standard jump scares. Where was the surreal dreamscape craziness? Disappointing. Lol I did see that Mary Poppins is getting a sequel, but the only thing that appealed to me was that they got Dick Van Dyke back lol! I suppose Mary Poppins and Wizard of Oz were really the only two musicals that I ever liked. What about you?

Also welcome back Tweeg! Sorry to hear about your job situation, have you managed to get any resolution? I hope there are plenty of suitable positions for you to apply for in other businesses. I know what it's like to be unemployed and it's no fun. Although it seems like the job was stressing you out, so are you feeling happier not being there? Could be good for your health and happiness in the long run. Fingers crossed!

I don't know why this amused me, but it did (very juvenile lol) :

Santa isn't the only one leaving gifts around this time of year. I was clicking on old 16bit Sega games last night and bumped in to this beauty. It's still in a early stage of development as you might imagine. The last time Sega released an official SOR was in 1994 and since then have had very little interest in revamping the franchise despite the neglected fanbase, but finally they acknowledge us. I'd say the recent success of Sonic Mania and Wonderboy 3 Remake has much to do with their decision to allow fresh developers to have a crack. But man, on the flipside, their previous work consists of just one or two games to their name. My analysis of SOR 4 teaser: I'm glad they kept it 2D, all looks in place, except the snake woman at the end whose identity baffles many others. Some have said it's meant to be electra, one of the female enemies who shocks you with an electric whip. In the old games they had big hair & fishnets. I hope it sounds like a MegaDrive SOR, so they better involve the old composer Yuzo Koshiro (still around) or i'm sure there will be blood. I guarantee fans will be willing to risk anything for him... even their lives...on the.... streets of rage :bitchfight:

This epic channel provides in-depth retrospective and high production values of many old Sega/Nint games. Well worth the time.
